Synopsis

This clever well-written thriller takes us back in time to the 1950s and hones in on the world of Janet Preston, a successful writer of romantic novels who resides in a large cottage on the haunting Yorkshire Moors. A knock at the door is just the start of her problems.

Directors Notes

I am old enough to remember Leslie Sands in his many TV and film roles, in particular as Sergeant Cluff (with pipe and dog) and as Barlow’s boss in Z Cars; but I had not realised that he was born and brought up in Bradford, retaining links to the city throughout his working life.

He wrote numerous works for TV, as well as around 20 plays and adaptations.

Intent to Murder is set in the Yorkshire moors and concerns Janet Preston, a popular author, whose weekend retreat is somewhat spoiled when a colleague of her estranged husband turns up looking for him.

Add a vet, secretary (with fiancée) and a housekeeper and Janet’s problems become evermore convoluted. What is the truth?

I have been given a great cast and backstage team to work with and have every confidence that you are in for an evening of intrigue and subterfuge.
