Directors Notes

A wite, the husband, the mistress and the possesive handyman, quite a combination and a very potent mix indeed. It is also the mix for this cracking Richard Harris play; Which will keep you guessing and hopefully keep you on the edge of your seat until its very powerful climax. This play is not so much a whodunnit, as a wait and see what happens. To tell you the plot would really spoil it for everyone, but let me tell you there are plenty of twists and turns in this play to make Agatha Christie jump up and down with joy.
Richard Harris, who also wrote “Stepping Out” and the hilarious “Outside Edge” has certainly penned something very different here, but no less impressive. William Wycherley once wrote “A mistress should be like a little country retreat, near the town, not to dwell in, but only for a night and then away”. How the husband must have wished he had read that piece, and maybe the mistress too, as they set off together on their night of passion. The husband however has a heart attack at the wheel of his car and so starts the nightmare for our mistress! Keep watching and enjoy.
