“The Bed Before Yesterday’ is really two stories for the price of one.
The upper story is the kind of comedy one would expect of Ben Travers – and who could complain about that? The ground floor over which the play is built is something far more serious and comprises wise observations stored in his lively nonagenarian mind and released in this play.
It is a play about tolerance.
