Directors Notes
We make no apologies for presenting another Neil Simon comedy. This prolific American is one of the greatest comedy playwrights of today. We hope you will enjoy this as much as others we have presented, for example “Barefoot in the Park” and “The Odd Couple”
Plaza Suite has some superb lines . .. listen for them; but as well as comedy there is pathos. Basically these three-plays-in-one are to my mind a comment on marriage and how it can become difficult in middle age.
We have tried to bring out both the comedy and the pathos, and your reaction will tell us whether we have succeeded.
