This lovely little play was first presented at the Savoy Theatre London in February 1954, where it ran for over a Year, with Miss Barbara Kelly playing the part of “Dearest” and Mr. Bernard Braden directing.
In a foreword to the play Mr. Braden writes : “Angels in Love is frankly designed to make people happy and, if possible to make them laugh. It contains elements of satire but it is utterly without malice. Such comments there are on Victorian Customs and fashions are kindly and affectionately meant.”
We intend to perform this play with affection and sincerity for it is good theatre in that it functions as all good theatre must-_it entertains.
