Directors Notes
One of the interesting things about rehearsing plays by playwrights from other countries, is that you become involved in speech patterns and the use of words which are not quite natural to us here. This may seem strange when the language used is North American which, after all, is a form of English, but the constant cry in rehearsals has been, ” What does this mean ?”
Arthur Miller is a master in his use of words and his plays are a joy to read.
This is the fourth play by this author which has been performed at Bingley Little Theatre. The others being, ” The Crucible,” All My Sons” and ” A View from the Bridge.” These Plays are not to everybody’s taste, but we hope that you enjoy this one.
