Synopsis

An ingeniously-staged play set simultaneously in three similar houses on the same housing estate where three different couples are undergoing three different sets of crises. David’s wife, Hilary, is having serious mother-in-law trouble. Susan and Keith’s child-free weekend is not helped by Keith’s insistence on working on his motor-bike on the kitchen floor, and Charles can’t find a suitable fancy-dress party outfit – but we have fun watching him try! A hilarious send-off to our season.

Directors Notes

Welcome to our play “Local Affairs” which I feel sure will give you more than a few laughs this evening.

The play is set in three different houses on a brand new housing development.

We follow Charles and Norma through their search for a fancy dress costume, David and Hilary in their search for a little peace and quiet away from David’s mother, and Susan and Keith in their search for a lost spark in their love life. Throw in Peter who is searching for a woman plus Katy who is searching for a man – any man – and you will see we have all the ingredients for a fun-packed evening watching all the antics of these people going about their “Local Affairs”.

Confused? Don’t worry all will be made clear as the evening progresses.
