Synopsis
This hilarious and touching play is set in a beauty parlour somewhere in Louisiana. Clairee, Ouiser, M’Lynn and Shelby, Truvy’s regular customers and Annelle her assistant run the gamut of birth, marriage and death but together – always together.
Directors Notes
Tonights play was first produced in New York in 1987, it successfully opened at London’s Lyric Theatre in 1989. The play is hilarious and touching. Set in deep south, Louisiana, the story traces the triumphs and tragedies in six womens lives with typical down to earth directness.
