Synopsis

A chance encounter that leads to a passionate one night stand. Both are married to other people but soon become aware that this might be the start of something. So begins a love affair that lasts 25 years. A long bittersweet, nostalgic and very funny portrait of two people who find themselves in the most unusual of long-term relationships.

Directors Notes

I am delighted to be back directing at BLT after too long a time. My last one was A Night of Dark Intent which was a quirky thriller – it was over twelve years ago I guess.

I first appeared on the stage here in Ludd, and have remained around here ever since. Highlights have been The Glass Menagerie, Hedda Gabler, Of Mice and Men, and Lion in Winter. All had BLT stalwarts in the cast, some of whom are very much missed: Roland and Wendy Coombes, Manny Baines to name but a few.

I have retired from the acting side now but hope to direct many more here in the future. My last appearance was in Kiss Me Kate for Ilkley at the Minack in Cornwall seven years ago. The time was right and I had my two youngest, Joseph and Jess on stage with me. The company was so wonderful and I got one more go on that magnificent stage.

I have also been busy at Ilkley Playhouse, and enjoyed some of my time there, directing Humble Boy, and Christmas Carol. I did get a lot out of working with their Greenroom on Under Milk Wood. I ended up being very proud of that.

Acting-wise far too many to remember – Teechers, Mice and Men (Minack), Carousel (Minack), and last, but not least, a topical one Same Time, Next Year with Jennie Gillgrass (as was) directed by the much missed Pat Dyson.

I hope you enjoy this lovely gentle comedy full of warm, feelgood moments. Heartfelt thanks to BLT for allowing me to re-visit. Thanks also to my fantastic cast and crew. The organisation here is second to none and it’s a real pleasure to work here.
